The Benefits of Window Tinting
Window tinting isn't just about looks. For drivers in Van Nuys where summer temperatures routinely exceed 100°F, professional window film is one of the most practical upgrades you can make to your vehicle.
UV Protection
Premium films block up to 99% of harmful UV rays — the same rays that fade leather, crack dashboards, and damage your skin on long commutes down the 405. A permanent sunscreen for your interior and your passengers.
Heat Reduction
Cabin temperatures in a Valley parking lot can climb past 150°F. Our Nano-Ceramic films reject up to 98% of infrared heat, dropping interior temps by as much as 25°F and easing the load on your A/C — and your EV battery.
Glare Control
Driving west on the 101 in the late afternoon, or east on Roscoe at sunrise, is a real visibility hazard. Our films cut glare from sunlight and oncoming headlights, improving sightlines and reducing eye strain on every commute.
Privacy & Security
Tinted windows make it dramatically harder to see inside your vehicle. As a bonus, quality film holds shattered glass together in an accident or break-in — reducing injury risk and making smash-and-grab theft far harder.
Types of Window Tint
Every tier blocks 99% of UV rays. The difference is how aggressively each film rejects infrared heat — and that's where the real performance gap lives.
Carbon Series
A significant upgrade over no tint or older dyed films. Solid heat rejection, a clean matte appearance that never fades or turns purple, and 99% UV protection at an accessible price.
Infrared (IR) Series
Where performance becomes genuinely noticeable on a hot Valley day. You'll feel the difference the moment you get back into your car after it's been sitting in the sun.
Nano-Ceramic Series
The gold standard of automotive window film. Non-metallic ceramic particles mean zero interference with GPS, cell signals, or radar — critical for Teslas, Rivians, and any tech-heavy vehicle.

VLT (Visible Light Transmission) is the percentage of light allowed through the film. Lower VLT means darker tint. Here's what each shade looks like through a real car window — same view, six different films.
California Tint Laws
Don't get caught with a fix-it ticket. Here's exactly what California law allows, and what we recommend for each window position.

The 70% Rule
Pair the legal 70% VLT with a high-performance Nano-Ceramic film — fully road-legal while still blocking significant heat and 99% of UV rays. All the protection, none of the risk.
Rear Window Freedom
Complete freedom on the rear half of your vehicle. Any darkness is legal as long as your vehicle has dual side-view mirrors — which covers 99% of modern cars.
No Mirror or Color Tints
California prohibits tints more reflective than standard glass. Red, amber, and blue tints are illegal on any window. We only install charcoal, smoke, and graphite films.
Medical Exemptions
Drivers with conditions like lupus, photosensitivity, or skin cancer risk may qualify for darker front-window tint. Keep a signed physician letter in your glovebox at all times.

Every installation at our Van Nuys shop follows the same four-stage process. No shortcuts. No cutting film on your paint. No mobile-tinter guesswork.
Triple-Stage Glass Decontamination
Before any film comes near your vehicle, we deep-clean every glass surface — dust, road grime, oils, and contaminants from both the interior and exterior of each window, including gaskets and seals where debris hides. A contaminated surface is the #1 cause of bubbles and adhesion failure.
Precision Digital Plotter Cutting
We do not cut film on your vehicle with a razor blade. Our digital plotter uses the exact factory specifications for your year, make, and model — 100% dimensional accuracy on complex glass like Tesla's panoramic roof, the Model 3's curved rear window, and modern SUV back glass.
Climate-Controlled Installation Bay
Your vehicle is brought into our enclosed, climate-controlled facility at 7812 Gloria Ave. Working indoors in a dust-free environment eliminates the wind, pollen, and airborne debris that mobile tinting services simply cannot control.
Heat-Set & Final Inspection
Specialized heat guns lock the adhesive to the glass — particularly around curved edges and dot matrix areas where lifting is most likely. A final 360° inspection checks every panel for bubbles, creases, or misalignment. If it's not right, we fix it before your car leaves the bay.
Warranty and Protection
Manufacturer's Lifetime Warranty
As authorized installers of 3M and LLumar, every film we install is backed by a manufacturer's lifetime warranty tied to your vehicle's VIN — not a shop guarantee that disappears if we close.
- No bubbling or peeling — guaranteed
- Color stability — never fades or turns purple
- Nationwide coverage — honored by any authorized dealer
Our Craftsmanship Guarantee
The manufacturer covers the film. We cover the execution. If you notice any debris spec, crease, or misalignment after your installation, bring the vehicle back. We'll redo the affected panel — no charge, no argument, no questions asked.
Tint Aftercare
The 3–5 Day Curing Period
- ›Keep your windows rolled up for at least 3–5 days. Rolling them down too early can catch the film edges.
- ›Park in direct sunlight when possible — heat accelerates curing.
- ›Avoid car washes for the first 5 days, especially automatic brush washes.
Haze and Water Bubbles Are Normal
- ›Don't panic if you see milky patches or small water pockets immediately after installation.
- ›Haze is residual moisture evaporating through the film.
- ›Bubbles are water pockets — not air — and disappear on their own within 1–4 weeks.
- ›If anything persists past 4 weeks, call us at (747) 295-7683.
Cleaning Your Tinted Windows
- ›Never use ammonia-based cleaners — they degrade adhesive and turn film purple.
- ›Use ammonia-free products like Sprayway, Invisible Glass, or mild dish soap and distilled water.
- ›Only use clean microfiber towels — never paper towels or abrasive sponges.

How long does a full window tint installation take?+
Most standard passenger vehicles are completed in one to two hours at our Van Nuys shop. Larger SUVs, trucks, and specialty EV installs — particularly Tesla models with panoramic roofs or complex rear glass — may take two to three hours. Give us your year, make, and model when you call and we'll provide an accurate estimate.
What is the difference between Carbon and Ceramic tint?+
Carbon film uses carbon particles to block heat and UV rays — solid performance and a clean matte appearance at an accessible price. Nano-Ceramic uses non-metallic ceramic particles that reject up to 98% of infrared heat (vs. Carbon's 30–40%). Ceramic also has zero signal interference, making it ideal for Teslas. Carbon is excellent value, Ceramic is maximum performance.
How long should I wait before rolling my windows down?+
A minimum of 3 to 5 days. Rolling them down too early risks catching the film edge on the door seal, causing peeling that voids your warranty. Set a reminder and leave them up.
Will window tint interfere with my car's electronics or GPS?+
Our Carbon and Nano-Ceramic films are non-metallic and cause zero signal interference with GPS, cell service, radar detectors, toll transponders, or any electronic system. Older metalized films — which we do not install — can cause interference. Every film we use is electronics-safe.
Can you tint the Tesla Model 3 rear window in one piece?+
Yes — and we won't do it any other way. Extra-wide film rolls plus our digital plotter let us cover the entire curved rear windshield of the Model 3 and Model Y in a single seamless piece. No center seam, no compromise.
How long does window tint last and is there a warranty?+
Our films come with a manufacturer's lifetime warranty through 3M and LLumar covering bubbling, peeling, adhesive failure, and color change. With proper aftercare, premium Nano-Ceramic films routinely last the lifetime of the vehicle.
Is it safe to tint the windows of an electric vehicle?+
Absolutely — when done by a shop that knows what they're doing. We use specialized soak ropes to absorb moisture during installation and apply low-moisture techniques designed for EV electrical systems. Your Autopilot sensors, door computers, and interior electronics are fully protected throughout the process.
Does tinting help improve my EV's battery range?+
Yes, meaningfully. Blocking up to 98% of infrared heat keeps your cabin dramatically cooler, so your climate control draws less power from the battery — particularly relevant during Valley summers when AC load on EV batteries can be significant.
Is 70% tint legal on front windows in California?+
Yes. California law requires front side windows to allow at least 70% of light through, so a 70% VLT film is the darkest legally permitted shade for the driver and passenger windows. Pair it with a Nano-Ceramic film for maximum heat and UV protection while staying fully compliant with California Vehicle Code Section 26708.
Why do I see small bubbles or a haze right after installation?+
Those are water pockets from the mounting solution — not air bubbles — and they're a normal part of curing. They disappear within 1–4 weeks. Don't press them out or poke them. If anything hasn't cleared after 4 weeks, call us at (747) 295-7683.
Can I remove or replace my window tint in the future?+
Yes. Older or lower-quality tint that has turned purple or started peeling is removed during the prep stage before any new film is applied. We also offer standalone tint removal as a service.
