The Benefits of Ceramic Window Tint
Not all window tint is created equal — and nothing on the market performs like ceramic. Where dyed films absorb heat and metalized films reflect it, ceramic uses nano-ceramic particles embedded in the film to block infrared radiation at the molecular level. No metal. No dye. No compromise.
Maximum Heat Rejection
Ceramic film blocks up to 98% of infrared heat — the invisible radiation responsible for scorching cabin temperatures from April through October. Standard carbon film drops interior temps 5°F–10°F. Ceramic drops them up to 25°F. Your A/C runs lighter, your cabin cools faster, and passengers stop complaining within the first block.
99% UV Ray Elimination
Ceramic blocks 99% of UVA and UVB rays at every shade — even at 70% VLT on your front windows where California law applies. Full UV protection on every window, every seat, every shade level. UV exposure is what fades leather, cracks dashboards, and yellows headliners. Ceramic stops it before it starts.
Zero Signal Interference
Older metalized films interfere with GPS, cellular, toll transponders, radar, and driver-assist sensors. Ceramic film is 100% non-metallic — completely transparent to radio frequencies. Your navigation works. Your phone connects. Your Autopilot sees clearly. The single biggest reason Tesla and EV owners choose ceramic.
Ultra-HD Optical Clarity
The sharpest, most distortion-free view of any film category. No haze. No color shift. No interference with night driving visibility. The glass looks premium — not dark for its own sake, but clear in a way that communicates quality. At 70% VLT, ceramic film is virtually invisible while delivering full performance.
Color Stability for Life
Dyed films fade. Metalized films delaminate. Ceramic films don't do either. The nano-ceramic particle structure is chemically stable — unaffected by UV exposure, heat cycles, or time. Your tint will never turn purple, never go hazy, and never start bubbling. What you see on installation day is what you'll see a decade later.
Glare Reduction Without Going Dark
A 70% VLT ceramic film on your front windows still cuts glare significantly — making westbound 101 driving and Roscoe sunrise commutes noticeably safer — without making your car look tinted at all. You get the driving comfort without the aesthetic commitment.

The Ceramic Advantage at 70% VLT
A 70% VLT ceramic film is virtually invisible on your front windows, but still blocks up to 98% of infrared heat and 99% of UV rays. A 70% dyed film gives you almost nothing. A 70% ceramic film gives you everything — within the law, with zero visible compromise.
Rear Window Freedom
Complete freedom on the rear half of your vehicle. Any darkness is legal as long as your vehicle has dual side-view mirrors — which covers 99% of modern cars.
No Mirror or Color Tints
All ceramic films we install are charcoal, graphite, or optically clear. No mirrored finishes, no colored tints — fully compliant with California Vehicle Code Section 26708.
Medical Exemptions
Drivers with documented conditions such as lupus, photosensitivity, or skin cancer risk may qualify for darker front-window tint. Keep a signed physician letter in your glovebox at all times.

GET A FREE QUOTE +The Tint & Wraps Customs Process
Ceramic film is the most technically demanding film to install. Our four-stage installation process was built around getting it right every time.
Triple-Stage Glass Decontamination
Every glass surface is deep-cleaned before any film comes near your vehicle. We remove dust, road grime, oils, and embedded contaminants from both interior and exterior surfaces — including gaskets and seals. Ceramic film's performance depends on a perfect bond. We eliminate every variable that threatens it.
Precision Digital Plotter Cutting
We do not cut film on your vehicle. Our digital plotter uses exact factory specifications for your year, make, and model. On ceramic film — stiffer and less forgiving than other film types — plotter cutting is the difference between a flawless install and a panel that lifts at the edges within a year.
Climate-Controlled Installation Bay
Your vehicle enters our enclosed, dust-free facility at 7812 Gloria Ave. Ceramic film application requires stable temperature and zero airborne debris. A single dust particle creates a permanent inclusion that can't be fixed without removing and reapplying the entire piece. Our controlled environment eliminates that risk.
Heat-Set & Final Inspection
Each panel is heat-set using specialized guns that lock the ceramic adhesive to the glass — particularly critical around curved edges, dot matrix areas, and the complex glass on Teslas and modern luxury vehicles. Our quality control inspection checks every panel before your car leaves. If it's not perfect, it gets redone.
Warranty and Protection
Manufacturer's Lifetime Warranty
Every ceramic film we install — across all tiers and brands — is backed by a manufacturer's lifetime warranty tied to your vehicle's VIN. As authorized installers of 3M and LLumar, that warranty is corporate — not just a shop promise.
- No bubbling or peeling — guaranteed against adhesive failure
- Color stability — ceramic film never fades, hazes, or turns purple
- Nationwide coverage — honored by any authorized 3M or LLumar dealer
Our Craftsmanship Guarantee
The manufacturer covers the film. We cover the work. Any debris inclusion, edge lifting, crease, or installation imperfection — bring it back. We redo the panel, no charge, no questions asked.
Ceramic Tint Aftercare
Ceramic film has a slightly longer curing window than carbon or IR film due to its denser particle structure. Follow these guidelines to protect your investment.
The 3–5 Day Curing Period
- ›Keep all windows rolled up for a minimum of 3–5 days. Rolling them down early risks catching the film edge on the door seal.
- ›Park in direct sunlight when possible — heat accelerates the evaporation of mounting solution.
- ›Avoid all car washes for the first 5 days. Ceramic film edges are particularly vulnerable to forced water during curing.
Haze and Water Pockets — What's Normal
- ›Ceramic film may show more pronounced milky haze or water pockets immediately after installation — this is normal.
- ›These resolve completely within 2–5 weeks given the film's density.
- ›Do not attempt to press, puncture, or squeegee water pockets.
- ›If anything hasn't cleared after 5 weeks, call us at (747) 295-7683.
Cleaning Ceramic Tinted Windows
- ›Never use ammonia-based cleaners. Ammonia degrades the adhesive layer and causes premature failure.
- ›Use only ammonia-free products: Sprayway, Invisible Glass, or mild dish soap with distilled water.
- ›Microfiber towels only. Paper towels and abrasives scratch the ceramic top coat over time, dulling the Ultra-HD clarity.

How much does ceramic window tint cost in Van Nuys?+
Ceramic tint is priced based on the film tier, vehicle size, and number of windows. Standard ceramic starts at a moderate premium over carbon film. Our Nano-Ceramic and 3M Crystalline tiers carry higher price points reflecting the technology involved. Call us at (747) 295-7683 or submit a quote request and we'll give you an exact number for your specific vehicle.
What makes ceramic tint worth the extra cost over carbon?+
The performance gap is significant, not marginal. Carbon blocks 30–40% of infrared heat. Nano-Ceramic blocks 90–98%. In a Van Nuys summer that's the difference between a hot car and a bearable one. Add color stability for the lifetime of the vehicle, zero signal interference, and Ultra-HD clarity — and the math on ceramic pays for itself.
Will ceramic tint make my car too dark?+
No — and this is one of the most common misconceptions. Ceramic tint is available at every shade from 5% to 70% VLT. At 70% VLT it is virtually invisible while still delivering full heat and UV performance. You choose the shade. The ceramic technology performs at every level.
Does ceramic tint really block heat better than other films?+
Yes — significantly. The nano-ceramic particle structure blocks infrared radiation more effectively than any other film technology currently available. At 90–98% infrared rejection, our Nano-Ceramic Series outperforms carbon film by two to three times. You'll feel the difference the first time you get back into your car after it's been sitting in the Van Nuys sun.
Is ceramic tint safe for my Tesla or EV?+
Ceramic tint is the only film type we recommend for Tesla and EV owners without reservation. Its non-metallic composition means zero interference with GPS, Autopilot, cellular, or any other signal-dependent system. Combined with our soak rope moisture protection during installation, it's the safest and highest-performing choice for every EV platform we work on.
How long does a ceramic tint installation take?+
Most standard vehicles are completed in one to two hours. Larger SUVs, panoramic-roof EVs, and vehicles with complex curved glass may take two to three hours. Give us your year, make, and model when you call and we'll give you an accurate time estimate.
Does ceramic tint help with night driving?+
Yes — and it's one of ceramic tint's advantages. Ultra-HD optical clarity means no distortion, no haze, and no color shift at night. At 70% VLT, front-window ceramic actually improves driving comfort at night by cutting oncoming headlight glare while maintaining full visible light transmission. You see more clearly, not less.
How long does ceramic window tint last?+
With proper aftercare, nano-ceramic films routinely last the lifetime of the vehicle. The ceramic particle structure is chemically stable — it doesn't react to UV, heat cycling, or time the way dyed or metalized films do. Combined with our manufacturer's lifetime warranty through 3M and LLumar, you're protected from day one through the life of the car.
Can I get ceramic tint on just my front windows?+
Absolutely. Many customers choose front windows only — particularly at 70% Nano-Ceramic for maximum legal performance — or combine ceramic on the front with a darker ceramic shade on the rear. We'll work with whatever configuration makes sense for your vehicle, your budget, and your priorities.
What is the difference between Nano-Ceramic and 3M Crystalline?+
Both are premium ceramic films. Our Nano-Ceramic Series uses nano-ceramic particle technology to achieve 90–98% infrared rejection. 3M Crystalline uses a proprietary multi-layer optical film construction — over 200 micro-layers — to achieve up to 97% rejection at shades so light they're nearly invisible. Crystalline is the choice when you want maximum performance with minimum visible tint. Nano-Ceramic is our volume recommendation for best overall value.
Can ceramic tint be removed if I change my mind?+
Yes. Ceramic tint can be professionally removed without damaging your glass. If you ever want to upgrade to a different shade, switch film types, or remove the tint entirely, we offer full removal service. See our window tint removal page for details.
