The Benefits of Ceramic Coating
Ceramic coatings aren't a wax replacement — they're a different category of paint protection entirely. Where wax sits on top of paint and washes away in weeks, a ceramic coating chemically bonds to your factory clear coat and protects for years.
Hydrophobic Self-Cleaning
Water beads up and rolls off the coated surface, taking dirt, dust, and contaminants with it. Your vehicle stays cleaner between washes — and when you do wash it, the dirt comes off with far less effort. Most clients cut their detailing time in half after a coating.
UV and Oxidation Protection
Southern California sun is brutal on factory clear coat. A ceramic coating absorbs and disperses UV radiation, dramatically slowing the oxidation and fading that turns paint dull and chalky over time. Especially critical for darker colors and red metallics.
Deep Wet Gloss
The coating itself adds a layer of optical depth on top of your paint. Colors look richer, blacks look deeper, and metallics pop. The wet-look gloss persists year after year — long after a typical wax has worn off.
Chemical and Stain Resistance
Bird droppings, tree sap, bug guts, brake dust, and road salt etch into unprotected clear coat within hours. A ceramic coating creates a sacrificial barrier that resists chemical staining and gives you a much wider window to remove contaminants before any damage reaches the paint.
Long-Term Resale Value
Paint condition is one of the strongest predictors of resale value. Vehicles with documented professional coatings consistently appraise higher than equivalent unprotected vehicles. The investment pays back at trade-in or sale time.
Resistance to Swirl Marks and Light Scratches
While ceramic coatings are not bulletproof and will not stop rock chips (that's PPF's job), they significantly reduce the micro-scratching and swirl marks caused by automatic car washes, drying towels, and everyday contact.
Choose Your Coating Tier
We offer three professional coating tiers — each one a fully bonded ceramic system with prep, application, and curing performed in our climate-controlled facility.
1-Year Coating
An entry-level ceramic coating engineered for clients who want hydrophobic protection and a glossy finish without committing to a multi-year package. Single-layer application, fully bonded to clear coat, and a clear performance upgrade over wax or sealant.
5-Year Coating
Our most popular tier. Multi-layer professional ceramic coating with substantially higher hardness, gloss, and chemical resistance than the entry-level option. Includes paint correction prep to remove existing swirls and light defects before coating — so the gloss you see on day one is locked in.
Lifetime Coating
The flagship system — a thick, multi-layer coating package with the longest warranty in the industry. Includes full paint correction, multiple coating layers, and annual inspections to maintain warranty coverage. The closest thing to permanent paint protection short of full PPF.
The Tint & Wraps Customs Coating Process
Ceramic coating is a prep-driven process. The application takes hours; the prep takes days. Here's how every coating job runs through our shop.
Inspection and Consultation
We walk the vehicle with you under proper inspection lighting — identifying paint defects, swirl marks, and any conditions that affect the coating recommendation. You leave with a clear, written quote and a specific package recommendation.
Wash and Decontamination
Two-bucket wash, iron remover treatment, and clay bar decontamination to lift embedded contaminants the wash can't reach. Wheels, glass, plastic trim, and door jambs all receive the same prep.
Paint Correction
Multi-stage machine polishing to remove swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, and oxidation. The coating locks in whatever finish is underneath it — so flawless prep is non-negotiable. Correction depth is matched to the coating tier.
Surface Prep and Coating Application
Final IPA wipe-down to strip residual polishing oils, then coating is applied panel-by-panel under controlled lighting — one section at a time, leveled, and high-spot inspected. Multiple layers are applied with proper flash times between coats.
Curing and Final Inspection
The vehicle cures undisturbed in our climate-controlled facility. Before delivery, every panel is inspected under multiple light angles to verify uniform coverage, gloss, and zero high spots. You receive aftercare instructions and a warranty document.
Aftercare and Maintenance
A ceramic coating reduces maintenance — it doesn't eliminate it. Following a few simple care guidelines keeps the coating performing at its best for the full warranty period.
First 7 Days — Cure Window
Avoid washing the vehicle for the first 7 days while the coating fully cross-links. Keep it dry and out of rain when possible. After the cure window, normal use resumes with no restrictions.
Hand Wash with pH-Neutral Soap
Use a pH-neutral car shampoo and the two-bucket method with grit guards. Avoid harsh degreasers, dish soap, and wax-stripping products that can strip the coating's hydrophobic layer prematurely.
Avoid Automatic Brush Washes
Touchless automatic washes are acceptable, but brush-style automatic washes will inflict swirl marks regardless of coating. Hand wash is always preferred for coated vehicles.
Annual Inspections
Multi-year coatings require annual inspections at our facility to maintain warranty coverage. Inspections are quick, included in the package price, and let us address any wear before it becomes an issue.
